Yoga for Kayakers

Does sitting in your kayak for long (or short) stretches of time make you feel cramped? Stiff? Achy? 

Want to complement your paddling with yoga that targets your kayaking complaints?

In this 90-minute Yoga for Kayakers session, you will learn hatha asana (postures) that target key areas:

  • neck & shoulders,

  • wrists,

  • core strength & flexibility,

  • back,

  • hips,

  • hamstrings,

  • quads,

  • calves,

  • ankles, and

  • the whole body!

What to bring:

  • wear comfortable clothing that will allow for twisting, bending, spreading, reaching, & sweating,

  • yoga mat,

  • water bottle,

  • a yoga strap or piece of webbing, canvas belt, rope, or any other non-stretching cord of 2’-3’ in length (optional to help extend reach in some stretches),

  • a bath towel (optional for extra padding in some seated postures).

No previous experience necessary. This is a mixed-level class.

Space is limited, so come early. Once the room is full, the doors will close.

Alida is trained in the ancient practice of Raja Yoga by the Institute of the Himalayan Tradition with over 15 years experience teaching all levels of hatha.
