New Years Day 2004
The Minnesota Canoe Association's annual New Year's Day Paddle on the Mississippi River was a success again this year. With the temperature in the low thirties, the group was large, including the "die hards" who don't mind nasty weather as well as some people who are more encouraged by the more moderate temps....ISKers were out in force, with nearly 20 paddlers. But there were at least as many canoes and white water boats there too. The Rapids Riders folks once again displayed great energy and seemed to smile the whole time they were on (and in) the water. It was really a good time -- what a perfect way to start the new year. Thanks to all who came out today!
